A new study from NREL analyzes land use requirements and associated efficiency for different types of solar installations - including fixed, 1-axis, and 2-axis tracking, and technologies such as flat panel, CPV and trough, and at various scales - above and below 20MW.

For community solar applications, typically under 20MW and located in areas where land values may be higher, this analysis provides useful data for considering economic trade-offs in plant design and land utilization.
